Dianne Daugherty

Dianne Daugherty is a seasoned educator, life-long learner, and a fan of early music from Europe as well as Japan. Her hobby is playing the koto, a Japanese zither. Having served in leadership roles on a number of other non-profit boards, Dianne’s gifts include board development and team building.

She is passionate about KCBC, “early music, performed authentically on baroque instruments, takes us on a unique journey back in time, recalling its origins. KCBC strives to create innovative presentations and performances that invite the listener and performer to interpret and experience music of the Baroque Era in new ways.”

Ann Friedman, president

Ann Friedman is a novelist and retired museum professional. Her introduction to Baroque and other early music came in high school, when she and her friend Mary were reading Sherlock Holmes. Dr. Watson says that Holmes wrote a monograph on the polyphonic motets of Orlande de Lassus. Who was this composer Lassus, they wondered, and set about finding recordings so they could discover him for themselves. They then widened their knowledge to his predecessors, contemporaries, and followers.
